About Lisa David

Lisa DavidHi there!
I grew up in the Saratoga County suburban town of Clifton Park, New York. A child of the 1970s, watching hours of “Brady Bunch,” “Let’s Make a Deal,” and “The Walton’s,” I have a fondness for all things kitschy American!

I received my BS in art studio from SUNY Potsdam and MS in Art Education from the College of Saint Rose. In 2012, I became a National Board Certified Art Teacher. Teaching since 2005 in the Schenectady City School District, NY, I make art every day with inner-city students. While cathartic and deeply gratifying, it is just one dimension of who I am. This fall, I will be teaching at Shenendehowa High School, at the very school I attended!

This summer (June 21-Sept. 23), I will be painting and sharing everyday, a painting sparked by a childhood summer memory.

I hope you enjoy my stories and my paintings. Maybe they will even trigger a memory from your own childhood! If you are interested in purchasing, commissioning a work, or just want to follow my journey, please contact me. I’d love to hear from you! The paintings are for sale on Ebay.

Hello, LIsa! I know that Barbara Fiore has shared your paintings on Facebook and today the cantaloupe especially caught my eye. Lovely! When I saw that you are creating a painting every day, you inspired me to find a place TODAY to set up MY paints and get moving! I’m summering in Maine and I really need to take advantage of this! My alter-ego is telling me that I need to finish up the sewing projects I’ve brought with me but…It was a treat to see the other paintings you’ve done so far. It shows that you are enjoying the “task” you’ve given yourself!

    • Thanks Barbara! I am having a great time and learning SO much- basically learning to be more confident in how I lay paint down. It was Peter’s idea to paint everyday for 100 days so I decided to give it a little structure and personal meaning. Maine sounds wonderful! So much to paint everywhere! Have fun!!
